Hi everyone :)

So I'm in the market for a sykco 1111 and since I am planning to scout carry this one I am hoping to get a sheath made out of kydex (larger mouth and flatter profile than leather essentially is what I am after).

I just wondered if you could kindly post pictures of res-c handles that has rubbed against kydex over the years so I can have a bit of prognosis on how it would eventually look in the long run.

Thanks for your help :)

No pics to really show, but it just marks the res-c a tiny bit and makes it look a little shiny. No real damage.

No issues with kydex and res-c here either.
I have 'a few' and never had any problems. FOR ME, that's my personal opinion, the best kydex for res-c is made by Azwelke.
Mind you, there's nothing wrong with other makers sheaths, it's just that Al's hit the balance for me between the (great) retention and ease of draw.

Yep same here. I have a 511 and 711 and, while I could take a photo for you, it'd be a case of "nothing to see here."

AZwelke and Buy Brown are the two sheaths in question and I would have no hesitation in recommending either of them.

Thanks guys I'm definitely getting a kydex sheath made once I get my hands on the 1111. :)

Thanks for the suggestions for the sheathmaker as well everyone. I've actually bought a couple of sheaths from David before and I think I would be a returning customer. Great guy, great sheaths can't get any better ;)

Aw Thanks Everybody, you all are the best.

I do have a 11-11 in house, just email me when you are ready my friend.

Brilliant! Thanks David. :)

Now the waiting game at the exchange begins... :D

P.s. David made me a sheath with my crest on using laser etching and it looks brilliant. If anybody is thinking of personalising a kydex from him I would highly recommend it.

You might also try posting in the WTB (Wanted to Buy) forum for that 1111...its worked for me in the past...

Busse hS been using Res C for at least 15 years....i dont recall seeing it "wear" out. Ive seen ill fitting sheaths dig into it that were too narrow for the handle. I really dont think you have anything to worry about. Havent seen any dry rot either like in some other "rubber" handles.

Marvellous thanks again everyone :)

Busto will do thanks. I will probably put it up as soon as the old paycheck comes in. ;)
