RES C failure

Any specific failure you are looking for?

A couple Test Team Regulators had their top guard torn up from batoning. Not from hitting the handle, but from hitting the tip and the handle rotating up and hitting the log.

Other than that nope.

Check out the Noss test on a Basic 9 and see the punishment the handle took before it began to tear .... Res C is VERY tough .... I have batoned my Basic 9 through an adobe wall using the point to create a firing hole using my helmet and absolutely no damage .... the dry mud wall was about a foot thick .... not something I would do normally .... but needed to then .... and it held up no problem.

I seem to remember LVC breaking the handle on either a dogfather or Basic 9 hammering it. Can't remember which and I'm too lazy to look up the pictures.

I beleive you are referring to these,

resiprene has its draw backs

obviously this is retarded, but after 11 hours of heavy hard work consisting of digging trenches and loading concrete my sense of right and wrong ways to do things wasn't working properly. I was using it to try to cut a tree root in a fence post hole, but it ended up that the tree root was about 10" around and larger then the fence post hole, plus the depth was longer then the knife could handle while maintaining easy retreival. there were waaay better ways of doing it, but oh well.

A member of the forum here told me that in SAR work he started with Kabars (they broke), then went to CampTramp. On his third handle he gave it to his wife (who also does SAR) and moved to a Ratweiler. Now he carries a Heavy Hart and a HO SJTAC. Swamp Rat replaced the Camptramp Handles. They worked lose.
