I know this is the Busse forum but since Res-C is a common thread between all three Busse families I thought I'd post this here. It works the same for the Res-C on Busse knives as we..

Here is the deal. I got my hands on a Scrap Yard Dog Father some time back. This thing is a chopping beast. After splitting some wood and starting a little camp fire I decided to place some of my knives up against my portable back yard fire pit to take a quick pic. I have done this several times. So I place my AK, NO-E, and DF against it. I quickly snapped a pic and then removed the blades. This did not take long. When I retrieved the DF I felt the handle and realized that part of it had melted. I quickly ran to some light to assess the damage. Yep. Meltdown! Before it colled and hardened I tried to reshape it as best I could. Then it cooled and hardened just as before. Here is a horrible pic of the side.

The DF being a user this did not bother me. It was asthetics only and did not interfere with its performance one bit.

Tonight I thought I'd just clean it up a bit. So I used one of my metal files on it to. It cleaned up real nice.

I may smooth it out completely and make sure it is completely even on both sides but this is good for now. Hey, it's a user.

Anyway, if you jack your res-c up I have found that it is easy to work with and cleans up nicely. I hope someone can use this. :)

Yep, it cleans up nicely. I ended up with two kydex sheaths, one in a trade deal and one in an open purchase (neither were BB or Oku) and both were badly formed. Each had a sharp enough lip that the sliced into the res-c. After an appropriate amount of cursing, each were repaired, sheath and res-c, with a bit of heat and molding.

Mmmmm, FIRE! FIRE!
