Res-C & kydex?

Since it seems that a lot of kydex sheaths "lock" on the handle, I was wondering how Res-C holds up the abrasion? I would love to replace the pouch type that came with my Bandicoot.

TIA, Mike

That's what I am hoping to find out- how does Res-C hold up to the rubbing? Lots of kydex intentionally uses the handle as the friction point. How do you do yours?

Like my friend above said, it can abrade or even cut if done poorly. It's basically a matter of flaring, forming the right spots, and having an eye and experience with it. Kind of hard to put a description on it for me. The best I can do is to say "small depressions", but doubt that makes anything clear. At least I do it that way, others may do it differently (and better :)) If you're gonna try making one, you're welcome to PM me when you do and I'll do my best to help. If you're just looking to buy one and have no worries about issues, I can't recommend Mr. Steelnut highly enough.

The kydex needs to be absolutely smooth wherever it touches the Res-C. If done properly I don't think there are any worries.

+1+1+1 to the Kydex makers above - I have sheaths from all of them, either directly or indirectly resulting from a purchase and they can all do all great job.

Those folks above have it right. The kydex must be smooth with no sharp edges where it contacts the res-c. I had one from a new maker for a SS4. It was made from **thin** kydex and had sharp edges. IT CUT THE HECK OUT OF MY MUDDER GRIP!

The good thing about kydex and res-c? Heat cures all!
