I'm really looking forward to the day Busse makes a camp knife with a 9-10 inch blade in INFI and resc handles
I didn't like the basic 10 that much... would live to see a dogfather in Infi
Maybe in two weeks ?

Why didn't you like the basic 10? It's exactly what you described.

Prefer Saber over FFG? That's the only difference i'm pretty sure

I wasn't crazy about the Basic 10LE either, and let it go. YMMV.

9 - 10 inches is kinda big for a camp knife, no?

Basic 8, or Basic 9 doesn't work for you?

Basic 8 and Basic 10 for the win. Not sure they can be beat. If b9 choil was improved, I'd love that one too.

The choil-les B10 is great. I would regret getting rid of my 2nd one I didn't also have a Carrothers light chopper and a Bark River Grizzly.

I can see how an option with a taller and slightly shorter blade would also be attractive. That's why I bought the Chophouse - only contraint is that they don't make it in INFI (yet).

I'm gonna be rocking a Camp Tramp soon on my daypack...gotta find out if all the hype on this model is true!

sounds like it checks off most your boxes...except a bit short...

and not INFI...;)

srry, nevermind :o

I should have been more precise:
- infi for toughness
- resc handle for chopping
- sabre gring for battoning
Would be the perfect knife for me

Not too many sabre grind resc infi knives out there

I'm with you man! Bowie profile like the original Battle Rat and you have a recipe for perfection

This B11 lives on my Assault pack, and it fits the bill for any sort of campish task or quasi-tactical task I can imagine requiring of it. It's broken bush, chopped veg, cut down trees and opened a few MRE's without breaking a sweat- and has battoned through its fair share of seasoned wood at home for the fireplace.

On the smaller side, the INFI Dogfather has impressed the heck out of me, though it's on the smaller side. Both of those INFI-Res C blades makes for a fine combo. YMMV

No.

This is one of those cases like I ran into in 1999-2000. I was not a fan of the B9. There was a lot about it I did not like. Handle felt small, the blade was not wide, blah blah. I let the ones I bought go. This is how people feel about the B10LE today. They are nearly identical in size and feel. The B9 has just slightly more forward balance, but the difference is hardly noticeable. In fact it makes me laugh when I hear someone say, they love the B9, but dislike the B10 since they are nearly identical.

As for choiless. When you remove the choil from a 9" + blade you basically turn it into a pure chopper. You will not choke up on it as well for fine work. And that is fine if that is what you want. For me I prefer the all around usability of the choil on a large knife. It is also much more aesthetically pleasing.
