I have one HI blade, full tang with scales, and i was thinking of new scales on the gal... but what i was really dreaming of is ResC on her...

Is there anyone at one of the custom shops (Busse, SRKW, SY) who can make a custom ResC grip for me.. hopefully whithout reducing much of the tang?

Who would i even contact for that?

(Blade is HI made Munk Cleaver)

At this time, I don't think SRKW has a custom shop, or at least one where you can send them something to be made custom. Busse does, but there hasn't been Res-C on one of their knives for a looonnngggg time. My guess would be that they don't have the material or whatever else might be needed on hand any more. Your best bet would be Scrap Yard as they are using Res-C. Still, I would think that having them do something to a non-Scrapyard knife is probably not going to happen since they're not really in the custom business. Even if they do or can do custom stuff, I don't think they'll bite for all sorts of (IMO) good business reasons. But, it can't hurt to ask. I would probably just e-mail them and see what kind of response you get back.

Unless the handle tang is almost identical to the tang of a model we have produced in the past there is no way for us to do this. In order to do it we would have to make a mold of the tang so that the handle can be molded properly. The molds cost in the many thousands of dollars to make correctly. So how much did you want to spend on this custom? ;)

Good thought, unfortunately not easy (or inexpensive) to do properly.
