Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has ever carried a Rescue Jr as an EDC. Does it work or is it too purpose oriented? I would love to hear some opinions on the matter. It seems like a real brute that just loves to cut, but I would like to know what you all think.
Thanks,
Matt

Depends on what type of work I guess. A coworker and I have been using a Jr. at the shop for months now. I can honestly say that it is a great cutter for fibrous and hard stuff like corrugated cardboard, twine, rope, plastic strapping tape, bubble wrap, etc. The blunt "tip" has been used to pry out medium/ large industrial packing staples on heavy cardboard cartons without much problems. But be careful here as this type folder wasn' t intended for such use. It is of course fine for opening envelopes, small cartons and even acceptable for cutting up some fruit. But clean it first!

Only occassional sharpening was required for the toothy edge. It is notable that this Rescue Jr. was used quite often in crowded work areas and was for the most part left locked open on the work bench, trays, tables, counters, etc. It had dropped onto the floor quite a few times. The blunt tip saved a few of our sandal wearing toes more than a few times!

I just ordered a full-sized Rescue with Orange handle for daily carry! I think this is possibly one of the best cutting implements (short of my Harpy), and better because it's so "un-tactical".

The sheepsfoot blade is one of the best utility designs ever. A plain edge model would be great. Better yet, a wharncliffe blade...hint.
