Found this at an antique store.... had two broken blades (the clip and the sheepfoot had tips broken off... the spey was undamaged )... I gave $5.00. Re-shaped the blades with what I had to work with (apologies... failed to execute a "before" photo).

I am satisfied with having returned this Schrade to usable condition. And, the project
was fun. I know it is not a valuable piece (msrp new 16-20) but I couldn't resist getting it
back in shape.

Blade edges coming along nicely.

p.s. this was a good reminder of how not to treat your blades.

Looks like you got it back in service just fine to me.
I'm sure it's a joy of a little stockman to have in pocket.

Thanks men.... one of the things I learned after this... I won't be as quick to
pass "broken tips" in the future. Selective choosing may generate a functional
knife.

Forgot to mention... after modifying the clip and the sheepfoot they both sat proud...
required some minimal grindwork on the nub. Now all tips tucked away nicely.

I was going to ask if you had to take any material off the kicks, I figured so.

HnS....
Good call.... shortening the blades / and re-positioning the tips resulted in the
"new" tips clearing the top edge of the scales....thus very minimal material removal
from both kicks . Cool that the minor change in material resulted in no hang-ups
open or closed.

I wanted to mention.... the results would probably had been much more
consistent with original blade shape if I had a "duplicate" template
61OT Stockman available. I "freehanded" these using a computer image
from this Forum ...results being a rather "stumpy" sheepfoot and more
"stiletto" type clip. You are also limited by the depth of the down the blade
of the break.

...just thought I'd share my experience in case you want to give it a try.

Well done.

FYI, the knife is a 61OT (sixty one OT, not 610 T), OT meaning "Old Timer", of course.

Thanks for the correction Planterz...brain wasn't engaged. I will go back and edit.
61 just a model # ???

It's very good to see stuff get rescued and made useful . Too much gets discarded for no good reason in our disposable world .

Absolutely agree DocJD .... and , for a smallish subset of us it serves as enjoyable experience. Good point !
