I saved this from the trash today. I didn't break the tip, the previous owner did. I know that Spyderco says it's $20 to repair so I'm not going that route. I was just going to grind back the back bit of the blade and leave it as is. What do you all think? While I have 5 nylon handled Spyderco knives, this is my first metal handle to add to the collection.

Grinding off that protrusion from the front would probably be about all Spyderco could do for you anyway. The S blade's cutouts make giving it a new tip impossible. So, if you can do it yourself, that would be the cheapest and best course of action.
