I bought these at an NTSA auction today.I bet the guy who lost the Case Stockman had a bad flight. Makes you almost wish you could find him and give it back to him

Well uh, I think that might have been mine, not sure though. You might want to send it my way. If you feel like it. anyway.

You got lucky! A friend bought some of the TSA confiscations and got a bagful of junk. Amazing what some people will put in their pockets.

Nice find. But stuff like this makes me kinda sad. NTSA capitalizing on others people's misfortunes. If that Case could talk, it probably has a lot of stories to tell. It might have meant a lot to sombody. Instead, it getting sold off for peanuts. Use it well, like the way the original owner would have wanted.

Was that an ebay auction? All the bags of confiscated knives I've seen there appear to be junk, but the pictures are so small and fuzzy you don't know what they are selling.

The trick is knowing what your bidding on. If your looking for something particular, the TSA siezures can give you a good buy for the money. I have bought TSA auctions before, and they saved me some green.

I sometimes buy from the Boulder City, Nevada seller
It's some city run program where they sell donated and confiscated knives to help the city budget
Pretty innovative I think
Same thing
Crappy, small pics
But...You can get some good deals
You have to squint your eyes REALLY hard to see if THAT is an OLD/USA Schrade Old Timer

It's also a good example of "perfect information"
If you can see the Schrade OT===>
So can other collectors and the price is raised accordingly

I wonder how many are really TSA knives and not just a catch phrase to get you to look?
Thinking you can get them below market value

Is there an official EBAY "seller" for each airport or state?
Are there LIVE /gavel-like TSA auctions one could attend?

I think every state handles it differently. In Georgia the only drawback is once you win the item it has to be picked up in person.

I got a real sweet yellow Opinel #8 with a cool lanyard from an NTSA auction once. That Case has done some serious pocket time, use it well.

I think TSA knives are a great deal.

Maybe I'm nuts, but I see it as a resue. If the original owner didn't care enough about his knife to pack it in lugage, or put it in an envelope and mail it back to himself rather than toss it in the bin, the heck with him. Maybe the next owner will appreatiate the knife a little more. With all the hubub over TSA security, anyone who still gets one taken throught thier own ignorence, has it comming. chickenplucker will give that old Case a better home than its past owner will.

It's like seeing a bunch of cast off dogs at the pound, that the owners had no more use for. I can't think of any situation where I wouldn't care for my dog or my pocket knife.

Most of the folks who sell the TSA confiscation knives are entrepenuers who buy large quantities from the various airports and resell them on eBay.

I dont know how it is handled in other States, but in KY, the State Div of Surplus Property obtains large lots (Pallet boxes) of confiscated items (I am assuming through the Federal Surplus Property program) and then puts them on e-bay in small lots. I used to work there and I assure you the good ones are lovingly adopted by kindly workers and restored to a warm and appreciative pocket. :D They get enormous numbers of SAKs, all sizes, and cheap small multi-tools. AND enormous number of miniature Louisville Slugger souvenir base ball bats from the factory in Louisville. Visitors buy them and then get them taken away at the airport. :(

What's the lockback with the jigged scales and bullet? 5th one from left. A Camillus? Thanks and a good load there alright.
