Anyone reshape/mod their resc?? If so would you please share how you went about it, pics would be nice too. :D

What do you want to do? A razor blade and sandpaper can do a lot. David Brown stippled his with a soddering iron (or something similar)

What is wrong with the stock shape? Seems pretty comfy to me. I have seen para cord and rubber tubing wrapped around handles, but that is to make it thicker. All you can do to the handle itself is cut some away.

Hot knife, razor blade, and sand paper, but from what I've heard sandpaper is not very good. Clogs up. Belt sander? I'm just going off what I read on a now defunct forum. Didn't cliff stamp butcher one pretty good?

Most of the Res c blades are very comfy and ergonomic, however some of the smaller ones like the B4 or scrap maxes don't feel comfortable to me. Jmo

I'll probably try the razor blade.

Factory Res-c is a little bit small for me, so taking off material isn't an issue. However, Adding is another story. What I do is wrap with camo form, then top off with inner tube. Keeps a good squishy feel in hand, but isn't uninviting. This pic ain't great, but it shows both materials.

The BASIC 4 I trimmed off the edge of the back of the handle with a razor and then just sanded. It does clog sandpaper fast so you will need a few pieces But it's very easy. It made my B4 much more comfy to me. It was just the flared part In the back of the handle by lanyard hole.

Cool, do you happen to have pics? What grit sandpaper did you use?

Thanks for the input so far everyone.

Bowman, camo form is that wrap for rifles you see at sporting goods stores, right? Good ingenuity

Yes sir it is indeed! I found some once at a gun show for cheap & never used it until it came time to pregnant dodo-ify my b11. Then, atsome other point in time, I was cutting innertube to play with the idea of "pockets" for this sheath & at some point it just ended up around the grip where i had the camo form & it just felt right. Almost, not 100% but real close to factory res-c just more hand filling. The neat thing, is the camo form sticks so well to itself, you could actually form a subhilt with it, if one so desired.

I took down the top guard on this regulator a long time ago. I think I used my bench grinder to take off most of the material and then just smoothed it out with a piece of sand paper.

Cool advice guys. Im picking up a HF belt sander soon so Ill try the sandpaper idea mixed in with the razor blade. Ill make sure and update the finished product.

Cool, let us know, I might alter the handle on my Scrapmax 460... I think that's what it is, the ELMAX one from a recent 'Ganza...

I'll have to try some of that camo wrap stuff, looks grippy...

Thats the knife Im going to try modding first.

As promised here are some pics. I might hit it up with a finer grit in the future to smooth it down further but I am happy with how it turned out. A subtle change but it feels much better IMO.

Next to one w/o the reshaping.

I used my spyderco to carve at it a bit and then hit it with the sand paper. Next time I think I'll just go straight to the sand paper though.
