I've had a Benchmade Osborne Gaucho for a few years now and have carried it a lot. I got it because I really liked the handle design and it was just the right size for EDC for me (I favor blade lengths in the 3.25 to 3.5 range.) The only thing I didn't care for was the tanto-style blade shape. I guess I'm an old fashioned traditionalist. Well, a few weeks ago I decided to "de-tanto" it. I put a grinding wheel on my Dremel tool and went to it. Below is a stock photo of the Gaucho, and then a photo of mine after the surgery. After reshaping it I resharpened it on my Edge Pro, starting with the 120 grit. Someday I may take all the scratches out of it, but right now I'm happy with it in its "rough and ready" state. I like the new shape, it still has a little recurve to it. What do you think?

Thanks, it does feel more practical. The tanto shape gave it such an extreme recurve that it seemed like just a small portion of the blade was doing all of the work.
