So I was at a couple garage sales over the weekend and I picked up a fiberglass handled double bit axe for 5 buck, damage to one bit, but I figured it might be a project.
The one bit is severely damaged. No cracks or anything structural, but it looks like someone swung it into a brick wall
and it would require a lot of grinding and metal removal to even get the one bit back into working order. So instead of wasting time with that, I was thinking why not just grind the one bit down, leaving about 1.5" of material past the handle, and making it a single bit axe. Would make sure to quench the steel if it accumulating to much heat.
Let me know your opinions.
