Reshaping the top edge of a BM 550HG: Can I do this with my Dremel or not?

I have been debating for a while now if I should attempt to change the shape of the blade. My experience level is Zero. My proposed tools/methods: Dremel with sanding and grinding bits and a palm sander. I have had experience taking out the serrations on a different kind of blade with this set up. Learned a lot. I don't want to botch this horribly. What do you think?

I am thinking I would like to "hump" right towards the top end of the blade. No idea if it would ugly or just awful if I try this.

If you're tempted to try it, PLEASE practice with a cheap knife (or knives) first. And keep in mind, the Benchmade's steel will likely be a lot tougher than 'cheap' steel. Dremel work needs to be done with a very steady hand and light touch, or it will definitely get ugly, maybe dangerous too. Put the blade in a vise, and use eye protection. Dremel bits & tools sometimes can chip/fracture/fly apart at high rpm, when grinding tough materials.

can you draw on the blade what exactly you want to do? i think david is right and you might be better off not trying it with your dremel. i use a dremel quite a bit and i find myself going to my belt sander in the end to smooth out what i did with the dremel. sometimes i get lucky and what i'm working on turns out ok, sometimes i end up making more work for myself.

Thanks to both replies. I had a feeling it may be too much for me to undertake without a strong possibility of bad results. My budget doesn't allow for me to mess up a nice knife. I may need to get an estimate on what it would cost for someone else to do it for me before deciding whether or not to get this knife. The main attraction for me would be the wood scales that come on one version of this. Don't really care for anything etched onto the blade itself. Just love the looks of the wood scales.

send me an email with a picture of what you want done. i might be able to help you out. i'll give you a call later today too if your number is still the same and i can find it.

Thanks Richard. Right now I don't have the knife. Was just trying to decide if I were to get one how hard it would it be for me or how much it would cost for someone else to do it.
