Without beating this to death . .
As a Commercial hardware supplier I find lots of right thinking in all of the above. If security is a problem use commercial locks, doors, door frames, and out-swing doors with security hinges. They have pins that lock the door in place just in case the hinge pin is defeated. As most juvenile offenders don't bring cordless sawzalls with them they are left to beat on the door or look elsewhere.
Having moved into a home recently that suffered a divorce, I can tell you that residential grade materials and construction don't cut it. Most break-ins locally now just jack the frame wider to slip the bolts past the jamb. REINFORCE THE WALL CONSTRUCTION TO PREVENT THIS.
