Resin casting issue

I just started resin casting with some buckeye burl. The first 2 pieces of burl I covered with dyed resin floated up in the pressure pot. The resin only covered the bottom 1/4 of the wood making it almost worthless. Anyone else have this happen?

I stabaliEd the wood in a vacuum chamber with cactus juice to specs.

Some woods will still float after being stabilized. Especially home stabilized. I'm assuming the burl was in a mold. Use some hot glue or tape it down to prevent floating

Buckeye is a very light weight wood .. i would weigh it down if i was going to try to do anything to it inside a "Pressure " pot...
a buddy of mine and i have cut up literally hundreds of pounds of it ... he was a "Handle supplier for 25 years..

Many folks have a grate made from welded together stainless steel rods that holds the wood down in the processing tanks. It doesn't have to be pretty , it just has to fit your tank..
