I would like to pose a question to you makers who resin soak their wrapped handles...
What resin do you use?

I'm working on what will be my first wrapped-handle project, and I'm not sure how to treat the 550 cord wrap (cord will have core strands removed). I currently use Acraglas for my fixed blade handles, but it seems a little thick to absorb into the 550 cord thoroughly. I worry that it would accumulate on the surface. I've heard of some folks using West Systems 105, but I hate to invest in such a large quantity (the smallest volume I can find is 1qt of resin) for such a small project.

Thanks in advance.

I use the 15 minute epoxy from midwest knifemaker supply and just dilute it with a bit of acetone and paint it on the cord with a paint brush. After like 5-10 minutes wipes off the excess with a acetone soaked rag.
