Resin impregnation question

I have a couple of blades with cord wrapped handles that I would like to resin impregate.
Does anyone out there know what type of resin guys like Jim Piorek and RJ Martin normally use and what the process is?

I use a 2-part tabletop sealer that I get at the hardware store.

Mix equal parts and brush onto the cord. It will soak in. Try not to use too much or it will look bad.
Don't use superglue! It does not hold as well and the fumes are terrible.
