resin soaked handle ??

I have tried fast cure epoxy with good results, but resin - that kind you use on fiberglass and you can buy in hardware stores - works much better for me - some 75 ml will do three kinves before it starts getting solid, if you are fast. remeber to tape every place on the blade you don´t want the resin to go, and leave the knife handle down so you won´t have the unpleasing surprise of seeing the resin went to the lower side of the handle and it is much brighter and plastic-like loooking than the other I use to tape a cloth plier (I don´t know how you call this over there but you surely know what I mean) taped to the tip of the knife, then I slid it on a slot made on a wood piece and this problem is sold.
But don´t worry if you screw up your first one or two handles.
any more questions, just e-mail me.

Ands another thing: use a toothbrush to apply the resin and use rubber gloves at all times. You will need to remove the excess resin from the habdle (push it to the butt of the knife) and if you do it without the gloves, You will end up with an unbelievable resin glove - I know, I did! you just can´t believe your friends reaction when you peel the resin off your fingers with a blade!

thanks Ivan i seen your knives F/S very nice what do you wrap handles with silk cord or ???
brad

Cotton flat cord, AKA shoelace, a tip I got from Don Fogg. not every shoelace will work - the worse ones tend to loose its color pretty quickly. Try the ones you find.
I am waiting for some silk cord (ito) wich I bough from Bugei, along with a few pairs of menukis, and I intend to offer it as a optional item.
Good luck!
