Copper and Clad sent an offer of 30% discount on three knives. One of those was the new 117 w/5160 steel, which I consider one of the best new introductions since sliced bread.LOL

Anyway I couldn't resist,so I have one winging its way to Casa del sportingspecialist.

Pictures upon arrival.

I saw that. I think they had 3-4 different models in 5160 no special. I was tempted but I already have a 117 cocobola

That 117 with the 5160 would be a great field knife.
I love 5160. Each knife ages/patinas unique to each owners use.

I'll probably end up ordering one of these. Good price too.
Thanks for the heads up.

edit.
Got it with a few hours to spare. I'm actually looking forward to abusing this one!

Well my 5160 117 arrived.I just took a few pics.I almost forgot that I also had a Brahma 117 as well.Speaking of the Brahma,my new 5160 117 arrived in the Buck factory box and it was labeled Brahma on the end flap.LOL

I was advised by Gary Randall of Randall knives to not use Neatsfoot oil on leather handles,as it softens the leather.Since then I've used beeswax or carnuba.I warm the handle and then apply several coats.I wait a few days and then buff it to a nice soft sheen.

I never got around to treating the Brahma yet.As soon as I prepare to use it in the field I'll treat it.
