Resistant Flipper

I have a new Massdrop Buc flipper that I like a lot, but the action strongly resists deployment. The first time I try to flip it--every morning or even after a short while back in the desk drawer--it strongly resists flipped open. I have to put a lot of fingertip pressure on the flipper lever tab to get it to go. I’m hoping this is a quick+easy fix. I’ve never taken a knife apart or done any folder maintenance work before, so I’m flying blind here and I’d like to avoid doing anything unnecessary or incorrect.

How should I proceed?

Is the entire action on the knife tight or just the initial flip action? It could be the pivot is just overly tight or just a really strong detent.

I would probably first try to loosen the pivot just a a bit. It might take a full turn, half turn, 1/4 or 1/8 turn. Just depends. Start out with just a tiny turn and go from there.

Is your finger resting on the lockbar?

Else you could send it to massdrop for warranty.
