I chopped some wood with my khuk and a few of the chops went REALLY deep into the wood and well the there are slight scrapes or marks on the mirror finish...

i tried using a generic Braso polisher to take out the marks but its not working... so is there anyway to fix this? if not are there any other options to "refinish" the blade? I know i seen some articles written on giving a satin finish to the metal etc... on here.

Also.... what are yalls thoughts and just putting these blades to a diamond sharpener? Cant seem to get these things razor sharp using more traditional methods of sharpening...

thnx

I have had good luck polishing with a 90 degree angle grinder with a hard felt wheel and green/white rouge.
Sharpening - I have not had any luck there yet...

Simon of Tora put me onto, Autosol car chrome polish with 0000 wire wool or cloth as an applicator, It works well, but might need a few applications.

agree with the buffing compound idea - quick and easy.

you might have trouble keeping the khukuri in a straight and even line while using v-rod type sharpeners.

Take the rod out, hold the khukuri vertically with the edge up and run the rod down the edge while you are looking straight down it = best freehand method I've found so far.

Mothers Billet Polish also an auto polish
that works very nicely
but it won't remove the scratches
unless you really bear down with a harder applicator
Easier to just start with scratch removal compound,
then finish with MothersBP

It will put a high polish on even a scratched up blade
and quickly
but again, won't remove the scratches.
