What's up Hogs?!! I just received my SAR4 yesterday......my first Busse, but definitely not my last!! I guess every piglet gets initiated at some point.....mine came about 24hrs after receiving her!!! I think she was cranky from the cross-country journey!! Thanks much Tim.

The initial bleed was profuse......think I nicked a small vein. These pics were taken about 90 minutes later, after some pressure and a cold pack. Who says Busse knives aren't sharp out of the box??!!!!

Ouch - nice slice! Hope there's no nerve damage.

Great first purchase!

Congrats on the SAR4! Ouch on the finger. Hope it heals soon.

hey man, you will have that with knives, might wanna run a little catgut through that thing to cench her down, nice knife, nice cut.

be mo careful and at least you know that it does what it is designed to do...

i am a alma mata of that same thing, jus not with a busse, mine was a spyderco, serrated

Super glue is king, bud!!!! I have little "blade love" marks all over my hands and a couple on my feet, like this recent one here:

And I can tell you this, nothing stops the bleeding like super glue ( Krazy glue gel is my preferred). Ive flipped balis since I was a kid, and have endured many a cut on my fingers ( quite a few have been stitch worthy) and have always just used super glue. I am no doctor, but have never had issue with gluing a wound until the bleeding stops, properly cleaning it, and keeping it bandaged ( I like using that new skin liquid bandage/antiseptic).

Of course use your best judgement, if its numb or one huge, gaping wound, seek some assistance!:thumbup:

I have one of my medicine cabinets filled with Bandaid Tough strips, gauze pads and medical tape. I just slap a little Neosporin on there, and a couple layers of the gauze pads then cover it with medical tape, works great.

Want to give details on how you cut yourself?

I was getting a feel for the SAR4's balance, with a few James Keating dexterity exercises I learned a while back. Basically, I was using a twirl technique to present the point from the sabre grip. I misjudged the balance & weight, lost the knife mid-twirl and tried to correct my hand position. When I corrected my hand position.....I grabbed too soon, and the last quarter inch of the edge got me.

Welcome!!
Lick it...you'll heal.
Which Busse is next?? :D

Lol!! Thanks for the advice. I have a Blk/Org High Street in the pipe, and I'm going to pre-order a Rodent Waki tomorrow. Then I'm going to save for my first "BIG" Busse........a Proto Bowie. I saw a couple on the exchange, and fell in love!! With any luck, one of them will be there when I have the funds.

 You're Welcome! I'm just trying to help...

I think everyone get's an immediate lesson with their first. Mine was with a NMFBM, just HAAAD to run my finger along the edge to check it - Yep - human finger definitely is "the other other white meat".

PS. INFI wounds heal faster!

Thanks....I thought hard about what Busse to buy first!! There are so many I like!!

Everything seems fine....no numbness, and no loss of circulation as far as I can tell.

Damn!!! Looks very painful.

Luckily bro, I was wearing my Asolo 520's when I dropped the SAR4!!! I would have been in REAL trouble if she spiked me!!
