Hello,
I have been at knife making for a while but, have begun to wonder if the respirator and face shield that I have are enough. I have a 3m 6000 series half face respirator and a crappy harbor freight face shield ( I plan to get a new one). Also Do you guys think that I need to get full face respirator. Thanks :)

This really depends on what you are grinding. If you are using carbon fiber, g10 and especially if using exotic woods for handles i would get the best respirator you can afford. The 6000 series is a good good one though and is used alot in the automotive paint industry which also has its fair share of nasties. As long as you have eye protection i dont think you need anything better. And if you do last time i checked thay made cartridgea that fir that respirator that have varying levels of filtration. Either way id say replacing filters often and making sure it has proper fit is most important.

Thanks for replying. I am not using carbon fiber, micarta, g10 etc, just some exotic woods( cocobolo, African black wood, etc).
