wow.
thanks for referring me to the
one thing about the ResQRench and resqme tool.
these tools that claim to shatter car windows.do they really work.
i havent tried them but from what i understand, glass windows are laminated and not easy to break unless you have a big tool.
any comments?

This post was separated out from a sales thread ... obviously misplaced.

To answer your question: the windshield is laminated and is not the right glass to try this on. Go for a side window. Pop a lower right corner, then pop a lower left corner. This should leave the window subject to knocking out easily.

Hi,

A subject near and dear to me. Most side windows are still tempered safety glass. BUT, some higher end models are starting to come out with laminated glass in the side windows also. And it will become more common. So be aware.

Breaking laminated safety glass is best done with a pick-like tool. Because the plastic films that are sandwiched between the glass layers hold everything together. So you need to punch a hole first. Then you can literally saw a hole into it quite easily.

The RescuWrench and RescuMe tools will work as advertised on tempered safety glass. Though, I honestly prefer a cheap automatic center punch.
