life is getting shorter, and too short to wait.
if it doesn't fit you, and it's a good'n, trade it out for something that works for you
biggins - probably not - the market being what it is universally, i don't think kabar would risk a sprint run even if they had 110% pre-orders. maybe then? someone start a gofund me, and get $75k and sweet talk them...
patrol machete. i really really wanted to like it, but much like the thinned out Reinhardt (bless him) variant, it's really made for southern vines and jungle stuff; nothing i'll see in my lifetime i'm sure (and a $25 local machete tuned to the task will suffice). highly collectible and pretty though. get some. fondle it. don't chop frozen xmas trees with either (esp the knots), or you will find out my xmas trees are tough bastids

. they destroy otherwise good tools.
if like molokai, y'all riding on the Island, or similar, get a thai enep, or other similar big boy chopper and have fun. i enjoy mine a lot, as it's what i need to handle north eastern hardwoods for limbing and such. i don't bother to wear myself out these days with chopping, unless it's for pleasure. saws baby. saws. right tool, for the right job. turn thin branches into 3 inch long chunks, scatter in wood, thicker stuff is one foot, and becomes firewood - branches are copious, dry fast, and have more btus. thick limbing is efficient with a 2-3 lb axe. some bits fit another axe. now splitting, ah, there's some pleasure. when i can't do that no more, i suspect i also will not need firewood either. so, i save by not buying a splitting machine. good times.
buy what you want, enjoy the crap out of it, move what you don't like, forget the disappointments, seek for life.
