butch just my 2cents,, don't paint yourself in a corner.. I was told a long time ago
if you are good, don't compromise on price..so with that said..I'd
charge by the hour, some blades are harder to sharpen then others,
after the first time you'll know what the charge will be, for them..
when I say don't paint yourself in a corner, I mean , if you get knife work going so you can't handle it, you'll not want jobs like this to hold you back money wise later.. personally for blades like hunters I get 2-3 bucks
it don't take but a minute on the belt with a little buffing..but you can get some cheep steels that seems to take a lot to do anything with..so I'd price time wise if it were me..give an est and tell them it depends on the condition they are in when you get them..that will get you some leeway

Butch,

I've noticed several sharpening business around the Hanover area. You might want to try calling around to them and getting quotes from them to see what the competition is doing.

If it's Kclingers, just get them to pay you in beer! Everybody wins! :D
