Restored a norlund axe

Found a little norlund hudson bay axe head under a pile of my grandpa's stuff. The poll was mushroomed and it was rusty, but I fixed those problems. I put a generic hickory handle on it (I'm not that great at hanging axes) but hey, it works. I made a leather "sheath" for it too (it's more of a blade cover.
I don't know much about norlunds, so any info on them is very much appreciated

looks good. the sheath you made is real nice too.
i don't know much about them except these little Hudson Bay hatchets are pretty handy.
i have a few. no original sheathes though.

This spring I will be attempting to rehang my fathers old Norlund hatchet. I am thinking around a 15 inch handle but I am not sure at this time. Mine has the Genuine Norlund logo on it though so I think yours is a bit older.
 
a longer handle than the original is a good idea if you want to do some chopping.
