Howdy Y'all,
I posted about this in the knife makers forum, but I thought that you ladies and gents might like to see it as well.
I recently found this old Camillus Model 33 Easy-Open Jack on a friend's property:
It had been rusting away on the ground for who knows how long. The land was an old chicken farm, and from the looks of the little pen blade, I'd say it was someone's daily user. The best info I can find on this knife puts the date of manufacture somewhere in the 1930s-1940s.
My friend didn't want it, so I decided to rescue it from the landfill and try to give it a second life. Now it looks like this:
This was my first project of this nature, and I'm really happy with the way it came out. It will definitely be getting some pocket time soon.
Edit: By the way, the new scales are stabilized fiddleback maple. The figure is a lot nicer than the pics show.
