Howdy Y'all,
I posted about this in the knife makers forum, but I thought that you ladies and gents might like to see it as well.

I recently found this old Camillus Model 33 Easy-Open Jack on a friend's property:

It had been rusting away on the ground for who knows how long. The land was an old chicken farm, and from the looks of the little pen blade, I'd say it was someone's daily user. The best info I can find on this knife puts the date of manufacture somewhere in the 1930s-1940s.

My friend didn't want it, so I decided to rescue it from the landfill and try to give it a second life. Now it looks like this:

This was my first project of this nature, and I'm really happy with the way it came out. It will definitely be getting some pocket time soon.

Edit: By the way, the new scales are stabilized fiddleback maple. The figure is a lot nicer than the pics show.

Outstanding work! She looks great, and I'm sure the original owner (after saying "THERE IT IS!!!") is smiling at seeing it.

Marvelous rescue, Trout Hound!:cool::thumbup: Looks fantastic!

As someone who has modded a knife or two, I have to say that looks great for your first try!

Nice Find and beaut work on the refurbish - to me that means more than a top shelf custom knife that no one will ever use.

I agree. Great restore! I wish I had the talent for such things. This is very cool!!

I did find a Kamp King that had a broken point on the main blade. A few minutes on the dremel going nice and slow fixed it right up. But that is the extent of my fixes.

I really admire all you guys that can do these cool restores.
