Hi guys,

I have a lanyard bead with no lanyard. I do have some para cord, but for the life of me, I cannot get it through the bead. Is there some obvious thing I am doing wrong, or a non-obvious trick I might use? if it matters, it's the small seb.

Thank you.

Cut a short length of paracord, say 12 inches, and gut it. That is, remove the internal seven strands. Loop one of the internal strands and attach it to the end of the paracord you wish to pull through the lanyard bead.

Thread the thin internal strand with full paracord at one end through through the bead and use it to pull the full paracord through the bead.

If you want to pull two full paracord strands through the lanyard bead and the hole is large enough then similarly loop an internal strand through a fold of*full paracord. etc.

The internal strands are fine and strong so be careful when pulling hard on them. I wind the strands onto a piece of wood when doing a similar job.

Hope this makes some sense.*

I will give that a shot. Thank you for the reply! Everyone is so kind on this forum!

If you have 550 cord you just need to remove about an inch of the core out to pull it through the hole in the lanyard pin. You just need to pull the outer part of the cord back over the core and cut it off at an angle then melt it so it's all cleaned up and easy to pass through.

Here is a pic to show how it's done. :)

A small piece of aluminum foil and wrap around the end of paracord tighten to a taper end should help.

I went to go test these out and I can't find my lanyard bead. Rats! Maybe it will show up =)

Advice will come in handy later, I'm sure. Thanks for all the help guys!

Just retreaded my small insingo's lanyard bead with 550 paracord and the aluminum foil trick worked the best for me. Thanks Sunby.

Go to Michaels or a good craft/sewing supply store and get a beading hook. It has a latch on the end and is perfect for those beads and will just latch over a single strand of para cord- you can then just pull it through all the while rotating the bead. It is how I fill orders for 50 lanyards wholesale and don't kill myself. Cost me maybe 4 bucks. and I got 2 of them just in case.
