Retrofit blade for PST II, WAVE . . .

How hard would it be for one of you small shop people (or even a larger shop like Spyderco) to make retrofit blades available for tools like the PST II or WAVE?

I for one think there would be a market for this. I use my PST II all the time but always wish I had a better blade in it. If I had the skills, I'd make one myself, but it would be so much easier if one of you blade smiths out there would just start making them.

What, seriously would they cost in, say, VG-10 or 440v or something? $25.00? $35.00 installed?

I for one would gladly pay $35.00 to have a top flight blade in my PST II.

Have you checked out Doug Ritter's www.equipped.com? Allen Duffield has an article on this very subject: How I Altered My Leatherman PST II. Although a purpose built blade with premium steel would be knice

Yes, I've read Duffield's article. Great stuff.

Now will somebody offer a retrofit blade in their catalogue for those of us who can't make one ourselves?

I'm interested, but I don't have a lot to add. I was inspired by the Equipped article. I always wondered how the PST was put together, and now I know it is with "chicago" type screws (sort of).

I am now contemplating finding someone to make me a better blade.

id love to get a decent blade for my wave, only thing is i dont have any of the screwdriver-bits to undo the pivot(the five-lobe torx with a spike in the center) so i wouldnt be able to replace it myself.

if anyone else could refit them with better blades, i would be willing to pay a decent amount for it.
hell, i might even buy a few more waves and get them re-fitted if someone will do this
