Having recently sent my Osborne back to Benchmade for sharpening, I was looking through my drawers for a suitable substitute when I came across my old BM750BT Pinnacle. This knife really brings back memories. I carried it for years and the knife did everything I could ask of it including some things that I shouldn't have tried at all. It is extremely tough, as well as being sharp and well made.

It finally met it's match when I locked myself out of my house, and used it to try and pry up a garage window that was unlocked but had been painted shut. I cranked on the knife so hard that it actually bent. Not the joint, but the blade itself. Finally, about 1/8" of the tip snapped off and that's when I realized I wasn't getting anywhere. The pivot was totally unaffected by this abuse and was solid as ever.

After that, I went ahead and bought the Osborne, which is a bit more compact with the same size blade, as well as being prettier.

Eventually I sent the Pinnacle back to Benchmade and they replaced the blade for $35. The knife is now back to it's original glory. There is no tougher folder I believe, certainly not for the price, and if I had to bet my life on this knife, I would.

I carry mine on occasion (sorry, fell for the Axis nymph).

It still serves well and I wouldn't mind a newer version with the improved frame-lock BM is making these days.

The thing I like best is the blade - that bit of recurve (which led to the 710 I carry approx. 2/3 of the time).

I carry my Pinnacle from time to time when I want a bigger knife. I usually carry a smaller Benchmade, but if I were to need a more stout edc, I'd easily go back in a flash. The lockup on mine is very solid after quite a few years and I've had no problems with it at all. I did have to thin the edge a bit when I first got it, but I'm a tinkerer and have to do this with most of my knives anyway.

I don't have a Pinnacle, but I do have an AFCK in M2. Another great liner lock. What steel was used in the Pinnacle?

Figured as much. That's about when I bought my Ascent (with the round Spydie hole) and it was also ATS-34. Coulda woulda shoulda
