This kind of slipped under the radar, akin to “Sals casual bombshells” in the Spyderco forums. I noticed a comment from Buck on their Instagram that alluded to the TRX slim pro making a return. Buck Knives Inc. Buck Knives Inc. can you share any details? Just an idea or actually coming to fruition? A redux in new materials or a total redesign? Coming soon…?? IMG_7215.jpeg

This is a total guess on my part, but they might reintroduce them at Shot Show in late January. That is less than three months away and would give everyone time to "stay tuned."

I'll bet they make a comeback with removeable thumbstuds for sharpening. Maybe even in Magnacut.

I know the traditionalists would bemoan it but I hope it returns with the crossbar lock and better thumb studs. I’m good with S30V but Magnacut would be the whole package.

The thumb studs are my only issue with the Slim Pro line.

I have a 112 Titanium Slim pro that I love, and now those thumb studs are loose .

I liked the micarta handled ones the best.
I like the overall feel of the micarta better, but the g10 has a better clip and thumbstud, imo. Also, I have a hard time telling my green and brown micarta versions apart when they dry out. The green is very brown unless you oil it.

Someone already mentioned a vise but even a few careful taps with a hammer will tighten it up

I like to add a dab of loctite before squeezing the thumb studs.

The new LE TI version is probably a start, and the magnacut blade in it probably indicates that they will be coming back out with the new blade material.

I hope your right.
I'm not buying $500 knives.

When Benchmade released the Crooked River model, I thought it was a direct shot across the bow at the big clip point folder king. Bucks chance to return fire and bring it back with the crossbar lock and maybe some ebony or Dymondwood scales and a bolster. Bring it in cheaper than the Benchmade (not hard to do) and it’s a hit!
