Well for a long while now I haven't edc anything bit that has all changed with a small buck slipjoint knife that I now carry every day. The uses are mainly cutting fruit tape and opening up packages its just a wonderful little tool. Now that I'm edcing again what are some good stockman style knives to buy out there

Welcome back. You'll find a lot of uses for a simple slippy in your pocket.
As for stockman type knives you are already carrying a Buck so start there you can't go wrong with any U.S.A. made Buck. I carry Case 6318 stainless or Cv.
You will probably get a lot suggestions if you can try to handle as many as you can and pick the knife that feels right in your hand.
God Bless

I'm going to heartily recommend the Queen #9. My favorite reasonably priced production stockman, with one of my favorite blade steels (D2).

Well, since your already carrying a Buck, why not ry a Buck 301 stockman, or the 303 cadet? Both are a stockman, both are built as tough as a Sherman tank. Both are availbe in a variety of scale material. And you have the great Buck heat treat.

If you go Case, you'll have a beautiful knife, with a choice of nice scales in stuff like amber bone, chestnut bone, or stag. Go for CV in Case though. It's a nice workable steel, and it will patina nicely to go with the bone.

Boker has some very nice stockman, with great roseood and stag, very nice fit and finish.

Carl.

Pretty much what the others have said. A Buck 303 or Buck 301. A Buck 303 was my daily carry for years. A Buck 301 is my favorite carry on weekends these days. Carl's simile was spot on, "built like a Sherman tank" applies to both.
