Hello all,
My second Spyderco was a Chinook I PE in 440V. What a bull of a knife; solid, heavy and a bank vault lock-up. Loved that knife ! ! !
It was a constant companion, always ready for whatever I threw at it and never a complaint. Did I mention I loved that knife
Alas my car was broken into and my Chinook was taken with a bunch of other stuff. Serves me right for leaving it in there instead of clipped to my pocket but I was still pretty ticked off.
So I kept an eye out for another one but had no luck. The Chinook II came out and while a great knife it just didn't have the same pull for me. Then the supplies of the original dried up and I couldn't find one at all.
EvilBay was no help, I either got sniped, or it was a CE or the seller wouldn't ship to Canada
Even made a deal with a BF Member for one but he backed out and stopped returning my emails/messages (you know who you are jerk).
I was still keeping an eye out but had pretty much given up on finding another one. So imagine my surprise when a member offered up a Chinook I PE 440V MIB in trade for one of my Spydies
Well it arrived today . . . from Indonesia no less and boy am I a happy camper. It's just like I remember with that fantastic "Thwack" sound of the lock engaging.
I know there are way more rare Spydercos out there abut getting this one back makes me feel really happy.
Take care gents,
