This is a neat new design by Kershaw. A one hand opening traditional knife that is the next step ahead of the Russlock. Two blades, and superior steel! Has anyone tried this knife yet. RKBA!

What steel is used in the Double Cross? I have not been able to find out from various websites (although it does seem to be for sale now online).

I don't know if it is still there, but I saw one at www.gpknives.com about two weeks ago. The steel is AUS 6 which isn't great but when you consider the costs of multiblade manufacture, it makes sense. I think it was around $55 or $60.

Yep, I ordered mine from Greg at Skyland and this is really a nice, nice, pocket folder. Bolsters are nickel silver and are really neatly fitted. The stabilized "cherry" is fitted (read "no gaps") If the steel is AU6, then these are the sharpest two blades I have ever held! Right out of the box, I cut myself with both blades (I like to do things right). I even put my decorated Sebenza away and began carrying this one! The only downside I see is, although the studs on the blades help in opening the blades, they do hang up somewhat on the cloth in the pockets. I cured this problem, I simply made a small belt sheath for this little beauty without resorting to grinding down the studs. Now I have the cake, icing, and ice cream to boot! The price is under $50 and is the best value I've seen for quite some time. Kershaw really did a number on this one. Better get one before they catch on and you're left out.--Dan

Just checked the Skylands site. Both the Double Cross and Double Duty are listed as having AUS8 for blade steel, not AUS6.

Could, of course, be a mistake, but I'd like to think not. They're both nice looking knives.

Are one or both blades locking? Doesn't say, but it seems to me I remember reading somewhere that at least one blade locks.

On the double cross, both blades lock and both blades have thumb studs
