Reverse Tanto - Good EDC Blade Style?

Another random knife question from Lock! :D

So, on my quest to find a bit higher priced knife, I am gravitating towards the BM Osborne 940. Looking at the reverse tanto blade style got me to thinking, is it arguably one of the better (best is a loaded and subjective term) blade type for EDC? It has good belly and decent sweep towards the tip for slicing, a strong reinforced tip, no awkward angles to cause problems with sharpening, Is there something else I'm not thinking about (highly possible)? :P

Also just a general question about the style to satisfy my curiousity, is it any good for piercing (no idea if the top swedge would some how inhibit a thrust)?

I think it's a very cool bladeshape, not really much different from a sheepsfoot IMO.

I'm jealous, I want a 940 so bad but they're pretty steep for my budget.

The reverse tanto is a very good design IMO. Rick Hinderer took a similar approach in his XM18 in which he uses a "spanto" blade style.

LOL mongo. :D

Yes, I have used a Kershaw random leek, works great for EDC tasks.

I need to pickup a reverse tanto knife sometime...

I carry a Random Leek every day and I have to say that the reverse tanto, IMO, is about as useful a shape as you can get for every day type knife chores.
