I just got it today. It came "hair-popping sharp", and not in need of touching up like I had read it might be.
The pieces fit together very tightly. The blade is an impressively thick slab that opens very smoothly and has a very positive lock. There is a tiny amount of side to side play at the hinge, but I don't see it being an issue.
The blade itself is ground VERY uniformly, something that I don't see on higher end knives. Hell, my RAT-3 has a tiny bit of a wave to it if you look down the length of the blade's edge.
The handle's steel components are fitted to very close tolerances. The G-10 handle scales are uniform and fit the metal perfectly.
One thing I was surprised at, this knife is a lot larger than I expected. It's nearly a half inch longer than the Gerber Firestorm that it's replacing.
The clip is reversible, and seems sufficiently strong. It allows for hinge-down carry and this causes the gripping serrations on the choil to grab at the pocket material, but I think I can deal with that after a bit of practice. The geometry of the knife doesn't allow for it to ride in the exact corner of my pocket as my Gerber used to, and this can affect my ability to retrieve items from the pocket without dislodging the knife. Again, practice will hopefully eliminate this issue, though.
In all, I am very surprised at this level of quality from a $30 knife. I plan on getting a few more to give as presents this Christmas.
Now, on to the pics!
