Let's see now, push knives? hmm...

I wouldn't scoff at plastic just yet, now that it's been labled as "dangerous material"; consider for instance sturdy pointed plastic dagger-like items as these which are more than capable of leaving its mark, solely for the purpose of its wielder to drive in a nasty point.

Not something that should be "taken lightly", in light of things these days!
Have a heart dudes, go easy with the subject.

Handled Safe Maker1 lately and its wicked! Dagger-like grind on one side and flat (slightly concave, really) on the other.
Definitely NOT a utility blade…

I've had a Cold Steel Urban Skinner for about twenty years. I've carried it from time to time but it really isn't very practical. For what it's worth, the Urban Skinner does not qualify as a push dagger because it is single edged. In Texas, double edged means dagger means jail!!!

UPDATE: This knife is now called the Safe-maker and it has changed slightly since I bought mine about a decade ago. The sheath is no longer kydex but the blade steel is the same (AUS-8A). www.coldsteel.com has all the details.

I have the Cold Steel Safekeeper I (the bigger version) and it is a wicked blade.

IMO this is the best value for money for a push dagger on the market.

It is a double edged blade in AUS-8 that comes hair-poppin' sharp out of the box. Mine was issued in a gen-yoo-wine kydex sheath (that's right, on a production knife). Don't know what the current sheath material is. Could be thermo-plastic (?)

The handle is made of kraton, the same rubbery material that CS use on their Peace-keepers, Tantos, Trail Masters, etc. It is very grippy, good with wet or sweaty hands.

My only issue with it is that the sheath has a clip on it (made of delrin, I think), whereas I would have preferred a belt loop.

But hey, it's a kydex sheath, the blade is satin-finished top quality steel and if I am not mistaken it retails for around $50.

So what are are waiting for...?

I have the Cold Steel Urban Pal which I bought for $10 off of e-bay, but you can find them at SMKW for about $14. Great little knife. Check it out at SMKW's website which is www.eknifeworks.com.

Hello, I am currently using a Tops Grim Ripper that is single side only and 1/4" thick. It is mounted on my plate carrier and gets used for light to medium prying and cutting. I think they run $100-140 US and have a decent Kydex sheath. But keep in mind that it's thick and might be alittle heavy for some use. But the single side blade may be right for your local knife laws. My 2 cents.:) PS the steel used is 1095 and that may rust easier than the other options that others have listed, just requires alittle lube. I'm not carrying mine against my body.
