UPDATE: This knife is now called the Safe-maker and it has changed slightly since I bought mine about a decade ago. The sheath is no longer kydex but the blade steel is the same (AUS-8A).
www.coldsteel.com has all the details.
I have the Cold Steel Safekeeper I (the bigger version) and it is a
wicked blade.
IMO this is the best value for money for a push dagger on the market.
It is a
double edged blade in AUS-8 that comes hair-poppin' sharp out of the box. Mine was issued in a gen-yoo-wine kydex sheath (that's right, on a production knife). Don't know what the current sheath material is. Could be thermo-plastic (?)
The handle is made of kraton, the same rubbery material that CS use on their Peace-keepers, Tantos, Trail Masters, etc. It is very grippy, good with wet or sweaty hands.
My only issue with it is that the sheath has a clip on it (made of delrin, I think), whereas I would have preferred a belt loop.
But hey, it's a
kydex sheath, the blade is satin-finished top quality steel and if I am not mistaken it retails for around $50.
So what are are waiting for...?
