I am very proud to be able to review this great video, by a great knifemaker. Many people here know Gene and the quality of his knives, now (at last!) you can actually see how he does it, and if you can, make it just as he does.

The knife he makes in this video can be seen below.

This video is the best I have ever seen when it comes to showing how a knife is made. Gene starts with a piece of steel and and his shop equipment. The first thing he does is show you how to do a modified hollow grind, he makes it seem easy, it is not. Needless to say I don't have time to go over the video step by step, it is 2 1/2 hours long. I will sum up.

Gene shows you how to make a very nice fixed blade knife. From start to finish, he shows you how to grind the blade, make bolsters,

and many more things. The one thing he can't teach you, is the pride you will have when you show someone the beautiful knife you have made with the instruction contained in this video.

I have handled the knife that Gene made in this video and it is a very nice knife, fit and finish are second to none, and is well-balanced and just seems to be made for your hand, a pleasure to hold. With the tecniques Gene shows in this video, you could easily make many different knives .

In summation, the Center Cross knifemaking video shows any knife enthusiast, up and coming maker and experienced makers alike how to make a beautiful handmade fixed blade knife. It is worth a look.

Thanks for taking the time to read this review.

Great review thanks for your time in putting it together.

NICE KNIFE!!
That's one of those knives that has a million small details to it!! A perfect example for a video. If someone shot a video of me making a similar knife, there would be a LOT of editing in the sound room

Hi
I have genes video and it is great
me and gene hav become very close
he called me the othr night upset
he is a full time maker with a large family
and he is thinking about giving up making knives because he is have some trouble making ends meat,I wish every one would
lift him up and help him out he is a great
man and a great maker to good to give up the art

I am eager to check out the video as well! I spoke to him yesterday and he mentioned they are selling very well.

Gene is a great guy and he was in a tough spot; he even had another job lined up starting this last Tuesday and was going to close the doors on CenterCross.

But God blessed his ministry -- and it is that -- and provided above and beyond what the job would have done, allowing him to continue with CenterCross and provide for his family.

I'm eager to see what happens next!

Well we have had our excitement for the week.
I think I will take a break and do something positive for a change. Time to give Gene a call.

Talked to Gene and Pat this morning. Wonderful folks. Ended up ordering a knife that is a little out of the usual for me.

I have a lot of fun doing what I do. I hope the video proves to be helpful. I tried to include as many helpful tips as I could along the way.
This is my process to make one of a kind knives. It can be used for any type.
They've been going out the door pretty fast.
I'm just finally catching up.

Gus it was great talking to you the other day. Your knife should be in your hands any day now.

I have really enjopyed making the bronze damascus. I'm building a couple of new forges. Drives my wife crazy. She can't understand why I keep building them.
