For last 2 years I’ve been using Izula and Izula-2 as fixed edc and actually was fine with it. Some time ago I decided to upgrade my edc in terms of steel and a little bit longer blade. Actually I have couple of Busse GW and SY Sykco-311 and all of them are great, but I also wanted something personalized.

Browsing the web I ran into Gossman U.N.K. (utility neck knife) and liked its shape and size. I wrote to Scott and he kindly advised me on everything I wanted to know before placing an order. Finally we agreed on the following optional specs:
blade steel - CPM 154,
brown leather belt sheath
handle - brown canvas micarta with brick liners
stainless hardware.

Fixed specs:
blade - 3 1/4" length, 1/8" thick by 1" wide with convex micro bevel edge
OAL - 7"
RC - 58/60

It took less than 2 month from my first mail to Scott until I got the blade.

Now I’ve been using it almost 4 months. What can I tell – I love it! F&F is excellent, handle is nice polished and perfectly fits my hand. Blade size is sufficient for all my edc tasks. Sheath is of simple design, which I personally prefer, and is very durable. It has drainage hole which is big +. Normally when I’m in the city I put it in the bag or front pocket. I used the blade in the kitchen for food prep and outdoors for making fire, slight batoning and food prep – it did everything.

So – great edc blade from the great Master. Thanks Scott!

Man, I want one. Excellent choice of materials. That micarta looks like wood and the steel is pretty much maintenance free and good for everything.

Scott makes some of the best knives in the world.I have 2 Gossman knives.A big boar tusker 1/4 inch thick and 8 inch blade and one me and Scott talked over the design and I call it my M.U.S.K. or Mikes Ultimate Survival Knife. It has a 4 inch blade and it is my EDC.There is no job that my MUSK can not perform. Great choice on the UNK.I am going to eventually get one of them. After seeing how easy Scott skinned a wild boar with it.

Nice knife. I have a couple of Scott's knives and they are all business. Scott knows his stuff and is very easy to deal with. Use your UNK in good health:thumbup:

I see that I"m not alone with my feeling of Scott's stuff :)

Buffalohump, you are partially right - that micarta not only LOOKS like wood - when I take my U.N.K. I really FEEL it like wood. It is perfectly polished and is very hard. I've got half a dozen knives with micarta, but this one is just on absolutely next level.

Makh, thanks for posting your review and pics. Glad to hear the UNK is serving you well. I wanted to add I carry my daily and have used it to make a bow drill set, cut up apples to skinning a wild hog. I've also used it to skin deer. Love the modified sheepsfoot designed blade.
