Recently, I had the pleasure to try the Kershaw E.T. in a recent passaround. Here's my review of this unique knife.

Initial Thoughts
My first impression was that it was a little large. It was a little akward to open at first but this wasn't a big deal for me, I'm a balisong flipper so I quickly adapted to the new opening motion. I like the blade shape and it came razor sharp. Excellent fit and finish.

Feel
The knife feels great in the open position. The knife feels very sturdy and has a nice weight in the hand. The lockup feels rock solid and the opening and closing are very smooth. It was a little large in the pocket because of how low it sits but it wasn't near enough to stop me from carrying it. The carabiner clip is also a great feature.

Use
I used it at work where I mainly cut plastic bags and the occasional box. It worked very well. The blade geometry is well suited to slicing (as far as I understand how blade geometry works). Once you get the hang of opening and closing it it is a real blast to mess around with. I spent some time trying to find new techniques for it. The instructional video really helps. I did get bitten a couple of times though. I also used it to cut up a bunch of paper towel tubes. I'll post pictures of that later.

Appearance
I got to look at the Urban Camo version. It has a coated blade and an almost paint splatter finish on the handles. I found it really well done and thought it looked great on the design. For those who don't like colored blades or the handle finish, Kershaw also makes this knife in an uncoated blade with black handles.

+/-
+Great fit and finish
+Very sturdy lock
+Good blade performance
+(Subjective, others may prefer plain colored version) Great looking color pattern
+Carabiner clip option
+Has safety lock for carabiner carry
+Very Fun and unique design
+Ultra-deep pocket clip carry

-closed size may force you to reorganize your pockets
-longer learning curve than most knives
-Occasional bite if you aren't careful

Overall
I've never handled the custom version of this knife so I can't compare. This is a great knife, especially for the price. If you want a unique folder with some interesting features, the Kershaw E.T. may be just the folder for you.
