This is my first experience with a Mark Terrell creation and won't be my last :)
Mark Terrell website is here.
UNder kneckers he lists tat they start at ~ $85

I got this yesterday when I got home from having four teeth pulled...Yikes!
I opened the box and here was this lovely neck knife.
I sliced some paper with it and immediately called Mark Terrell to order the other Kiridashi knecker.
No luck it was sold...
So here is my neck knife.
Double hollow ground. Shaved leg hair .... mine!
1/8 inch 440c
7 inch oal
3.3 ounces with sheath and chain. I'll prolly change out the chain to some paracord..

Fits in the hand well. LOOK at that blade edge length. This is a new to me, blade configuration that increases the cutting edge while saving length.

Thumb ramp is well done not cutting into your finger but aiding retention.

Is nice in hand with forefinger guiding the cut.Note the swale at the blade tip. THe Devil is in the detail and this blade is detailed.

This could be carried on the waist and draw quite nicely. Tho I didn't try a small tek lok...

Sheath is well done too! When I use my thumb to remove the gingers index right on.

Cuts, slices and dices real well!

What's with the hole in the blade? Increase retention in the sheath? Neat idea, but did it really have to be so big? Pet peeve

Sweet knife there, and I was curious about the "crooked point profile" but the ergos certainly look good and the knife is rather attractive too. Very nice. I would be concerned a bit about the pointy part poking back in the finger... I suppose in saber grip it doesn't matter and the choil seems more than deep enough.

Hmmm
The hole in the blade may have something to do with sheath retention...or it just may be part of the skeletonized design.
I'll have to ask Mark Terrell.

For my edc knecker it is a wonderful size.
I like a knecker with a fuller handle so as I use it it doesn't dig into my palm.
The blade is razor sharp.
The crooked point may add some structural strength to the knife...Or it just may be whimsical design. Works for me :)

Interesting edge/grip orientation. Do you have any more traditional configurations to compare it to. I would be curious where you would prefer one over the other.

That thing looks awesome. What's Terrell asking for it? I assume you feel the grip angle is right, even if you're pushing down hard? Looks like your index finger is pretty well protected in the little cutout.

I'll be settin pics of Yurco, Jimi, Krein TK1 and Emerson LaGriffe.
I'll identify what makes a neck knife desirable for me and show some dramatic differences between the others and the Terrell.

Mark Terrell id's his kneckers as starting at ~ $85
All the other make kneckers are VERY fine in their own....But that's why some of us have brown velcro shoes and others have black tied shoes.....
or somethin like that.
":)

Hope to post it tomorrow with examples of why I prefer somethings certain ways.

It looks like that hole is for sheath retention. The Kydex goes down in to it a bit by the looks of the pictures. Probably helps when holding it in a pinch grip too, I'd imagine. Cool looking neck knife. Your Tooth Fairy is much better than mine!

It's taken me forever to post a reply...
And Joe it was $80.
I posted that the Mark Terrell kiradashi (box cutter) neck kinfe was my edc and current fav and I am always searching for the perfect KNECKER.....
Here's the Mark Terrell ...I HATE the name BTW...Box Cutter??? Indeed!!!!
This fills my needs/desires better than any other knecker I've had.....

What makes a Knecker work for me is handle length and blade length. Both of which need to be a functional, useable length.
Very subjective as what is just right for me ios too long or short for you.
Also blade retention and draw is very important.
Vee grind and not chisel. steel of a quality like your fixed or folder. Properly heat treated, edge geometry and steel not less than aus 8..

I have a Simonich Bitterroot and some others that are too small for me.
The closest to my ideal in the pictures is the Yurco. Great ergonomics, blade length and handle.
Cept it weighs more than the Terrell and I don't like the skull.
Beautiful work and it was my edc before coming across the Terrell.

I agree about the Yurco. I've got that identical one without the skull menuki.
Great knife. That MT looks real nice, though. I like that blade shape.
