Hey guys,

This may be old news, but I just did a write up of the SR-1, just thought I'd share. Here's the link to the write up.

I enjoyed your reviews... possibly too much. I visited the Blade Show this year - and met Gianni - and bought an SR-1 from him. I had opportunities to buy numerous great knives that day - but opted to spend my entire bundle on the SR-1. The sample I fondled was fine - I selected a boxed knife of the appropriate brushed gunmetal looking Ti and headed home to Birmingham. I passed it around the car for the other rider to fondle - he noted the knife was stiff. I agreed - but the convex edge as delivered was decent - not great - so I thought it would break-in and I'd be happy with my purchase. Sadly, severe 'buyer's remorse' ensued when I arrived home and worked it a time or two. Somewhat disappointed, the knife was put away - for months. I retrieved it a month or so back to take to a local knife emporium to see what I could trade it in for - and was appalled. Back to the nether regions of my desk drawer - until today. Your reviews were motivational.

Sorry to report, mine is not a happy tale. Inspired by your reviews, I retrieved my knife from it's hiding place. The stiffness, I thought, may have been a too-tight pivot screw - I loosened the presentation side screw easily with the included tool - it helped - loosened more and I note no more improvement - so I tightened it until the blade tightness returned, backed off slightly and looked at the blade bushings - more clearance was apparent than on the framelock side. I attempted to loosen that side - it was tight. I bore down with a small screwdriver through the opposite end of the sheet metal tool for leverage and proceeded to bend said sheet metal 'tips', and marred two of the pivot screw pin holes - the pivot screw is still tight. A T10 driver seemed loose in the center hole, too. So, I am stuck... or at least the pivot screw is. I need a better, actually a four pin, tool to loosen said screw - and then, likely, a replacement screw - and original tool. Where do I go? If it was a Benchmade, CRK, Kershaw/ZT, or Spyderco, I'd know where to go... parts and service are available on this side of the 'pond'. My glee turned a bit sour, sadly. Thanks for the reviews just the same.

Just saw this, but seems like you're taken care of. Lionsteel is a great company I'm sure you'll be setup.

I had to get a new password to get into the LionSteel site to insure that I had recorded my purchase - I had. I sent a letter to 'info' last Wednesday - still no reply. I'll resend it tomorrow.

EDIT 12-19-12: Heard from Gianni today - should have parts on the way soon.

Well this knife from the Review is in my Hands now and I'll happy to report that this knife is amazing! Having never had the Chance to see or hold one in person I couldn't justify purchasing it. But I got the opportunity to get this one from dbla and boy am I happy I did! LionSteel you make a fantastic knife! I love the everything about it. Job well done!
