Got my free Wedge II from WOW a few days ago. This is a pretty efficient multi-carry utility knife. I like how you can forget about it when it's not needed. The handle seems made for slightly larger hands than mine. I can see the appeal to sportsmen and women alike. For women though, I think the handle can be a little smaller.
The blade is bigger than I thought. And if I were to buy one for outdoors use, I'd go for Wedge I. The Wedge is a knife for simple cutting. So I think the smaller Wedge I is a better choice.
The index finger lock on the hard plastic sheaths works very well. I can't get the knife out unless the lock is depressed. This takes a bit of practice (2nd try). Unless you practice, it's not a sufficiently panick-proof release for a defensive system. But it doesn't claim to be.
The Wedge does what it's designed to do, light, small, low-maintainance.
