Hi all,

Newbie to the world of knives. I'll do my best to give an honest and detailed review!
Don't mind the dog hair on the carpet!!! I have a black lab :D

SOGwinder
I like this knife because it's very sturdy. The blade at it's base is nice and thick, and it came out of the factory very sharp. I also like the design of the blade. The handles are very comfortable, but make the knife slightly heavy. The handles also make the knife hard to get out of my pocket, because I don't use a sheath. The opening of the blade is harder because it's a lockback, you really have to snap your wrist, but it opens with a satisfying and sturdy POP! The weight of this knife allows me to keep it in my car, and not an Everyday carry.

Mini X-Ray Vision
This knife is amazing. The opening is very easy, as is the closing. The opening is so easy in fact, it makes you question how sturdy the lock is. But rest assured it is very sturdy. It is lightweight and seems durable. One thing I did was remove the pocket clip, as I keep it deep in my pocket and prefer having no clip. But this is a low riding clip, it comes out of the bottom of the knife and allows none of the knife to show when clipped. It is also VERY tight clip, so you won't have to worry about it falling out of your pocket. The blade is very sharp, and I enjoy the serration just in case I have to cut through ... just about anything!

Overall I am very satisfied with both knives, mainly the mini x-ray. I can't wait to put it through some serious cutting. I wish SOG would make more "mini" versions, particularly of the Pentagon Elite, because that straight blade and design would make for an awesome knife. The reason I prefer the smaller knives it because it is less threatening when used in public (or at work/home/etc) and for those who like to carry deep pocket (or clip) it is not cumbersome and uncomfortable. I don't like having to fish through my pockets for change or a receipt around a pocket-sword, no pun intended.

Nice review and pics!
I didn't realize before how small the SOGwinder actually is, until I saw it next to the Mini X ray.
It definitely looks like quite a sturdy little knife.

Yup, mind you that's the SOGwinder 1 ... I beleive they have other versions of it which is a full-size folder. This one has a 2.75" blade

I love the lightness and low profile clip of the Mini X-Ray. Though small, it is pretty ferocious looking compared to the SOGWinder, which I would call more sheeple friendly. The 'Winder is chunky, comfortable to grip, and certainly sturdy!

I also wish that SOG would come out with more 'mini' versions. I am a fan of the Mini X-Ray, but I would like to see more 3" blade Arc-lock knives. I would love a mini Spec-elite - I like the blade shape on that one. For me, a 3" blade / 4" handle is going to see a lot more use than a bigger knife.
