I've got one of these coming tomorrow, and wanted to know others opinions. Any misfire problems, how is the fit/finish. I've heard some conflicting stories, were these regular production SERE's converted, or were they all hand made by the Vallattons? Thanks for the info.

I've had one for a few days now and am very happy with it. Excellent fit and finish. Liner lock is very precisely fitted. Very smooth manual action. Strong spring. Sharp edge with even grinds. Solid lock up. Nice scale release mechanism.
I believe it is a conversion done by the Vallottons, but I could be wrong.

They are conversions. I don't have one, but handled one at the Blade show. Very nice.

Arrived today, quite a nice knife. I think it's very close to the sharpest knife out of the box that I've ever owned. Very smooth in the manual mode, and has a very nice kick in auto mode. It's very easy to manipulate in auto mode. That's about all I have to report on it at this time. I just slipped it in my pocket, and havn't decided if this is going to be a user yet. Time will tell.

I asked around before I went out to get one, and I am glad I did. I picked the brains of MANY knive makers, and although ALL stated confidence in the piece...most said the same thing I ended up thinking AFTER I had the chance to handle one.

The blade is just too undersized for the knife...Big, manly grip, while the blade is tiny...

Think of a Sifu with a BM 705 blade! Obviously not THAT severe but I felt it awkward enough NOT to purchase one. I instead opted for another REKAT PIONEER II. Tough as nails, great steel, and a pleasure to sharpen up...

Handle one BEFORE you buy it...trust me. It is a tough, useful, well made piece, just sort of misproportioned for some.

I just checked mine, and any more blade, and the tip will bite you. I think that it has a nice blade to handle ratio myself, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. Thanks for all of the replies, keep them coming. My jury is still out on this piece though. I've carried it a little, and for the price, I could find a completely custom piece, although probably not a DA or an Auto. I like D/A's but they are somewhat of a novelty. What I'm really waiting for are all of the DA OTF's to be made :D.
