Can anyone give me a review of this knife? I've been looking for an "elegant tactical" and this seems to fit the bill perfectly. I basically want a thin knife with an emphasis on slicing that has good ergonomics and a finger guard if it ever had to be used for stabbing or SD purposes. My main interest is a good looking slicer that's built to last. The SD is secondary because chances are that I will never have to use a knife for that purpose BUT the possibility does exist because I often find myself in some pretty hairy neighborhoods. Would this knife work for what I want it to do? Are there any other knives I should be looking at?

The Al Mar Falcon Ultralight is thin and light with a secure pocket clip and a thin very sharp blade. I carry it sometimes for the same reasons as you.

It is harder to deploy the knife quickly as the blade is light and the spring is strong and it is hard to get your thumb on the post. Something like the Benchmade 940 series is much easier to deploy, though heavier.

Hope this helps,

I don't have a Falcon, but you might want to check out what I wrote about it's big brother, the Al Mar Eagle Talon Ultralight. It's my favorite summer EDC knife.
