I'm thinking of trading for one of these with the thumb stud, just wanted to see what your experiences were.

Thanks,
Clay

I have one, love it. The blade profile is dang near perfect for me and what I want, as far as pure utility. I have the plain edge, 551. The 440C works excellently, takes a nice edge, and holds it plenty long. Not a wonder steel, but a good, SOLID performer. Plus, it feels downright toothy until it is downright DULL. The lock works great, like all Axis locks. The scales are plenty grippy and stiff, and are a bit rounded (instead of the standard BLOCKY G10).

A GREAT buy, for the price it can be found on the 'net. Buy one, and I would bet good money you won't be disappointed.

In a bit of a hurry now. If you have specific questions, post 'em, or you could email me.

Its a good knife! I bought one when they first camoe out over a year ago (original 550). The blade cuts very well, easy to sharpen, and a pleasure to carry. makes a great camping/hunting/hiking knife. The only drawback I had was it tended to be a bit bulky in the pocket, just my opinion. All in all its a really great knife, and a good deal!!:D

A great knife for the money, that's for sure. Though it can't compete with the higher priced models.

I've been using mine as a work knife for several months now. It has taken a lot of so-called hard use ;) without any problems.

Still I never carried it for edc at (office-)work. It just doesn't feel good enough, compared to my beloved 720 for example. But that's just my purely subjective opinion...

Griptilian 550 is great. I love the meaty grips, and how is feels clipped inside the pants, just enough to remember it's there. The reptile-shaped blade is all I need for EDC. Great quality, but not so expensive that I'd die if I lost it, had it confiscated, (or had to ditch it).

I like it so much I got two, one serrated and one straight edge! I'm all set.
