Anybody got these I got the fixed blade drop point a while back and havnt really done much with it except peel some trout and gut some apples. Any hard users out there?

(Maybe this shouldve went in the wilderness section???)

peel some......and gut some..........what ????? I must be tired!

i think that this is one of the most underrated cheap knives out there. great multi purpose durable utilitarian. i have a partially serrated drop point folder, and have previously owned the plain edge version. this is not one of my main carry blades (although, i keep it in-sheath fastened to my courier bag as an easy to reach backup), around ten years ago it was a main carry for several years.
then, i used it for everything... from apples, to pencils, to using it to anchor canoes. it also has a great tactical potential. my previous survived well over 1,000 throws before i broke the point, with no loosening of the pivot. the lock, however, makes me uncomfortable. i had the lock release once during a reverse grip thrust against plywood.

pros:
durable strong pivot
sharp, out of box
secure oversized grip
useful blade shape
great balance
cheap
quick open, doesn't need a thumb stud

cons:
difficult to return to factory sharpness
handle too thick for concealed or comfortable in-pocket carry, no pocket clip
sketchy lock for combat applications (especially worriesome, as i have had blade penetrate finger bone twice on other folders (yes i know, "twice, shame on me"))

I brough one over with me and like it a lot. Its a clip point non serrated. I like the sheath and grip. At the hight of the summer it would get hot enough to burn my hands on my M16 so the rubberized grip was nice.
